Welcome to Samuel Atkins" WebsiteWelcome to my personal website and portfolio. Currently, this site is a mess,
as much of the basic code has been around since I started learning PHP, and thus
has HTML that doesn"t conform to standards, far too many files that I can"t remember
the purpose of, and basic code on every page that is horrible. However, I never
really viewed this site as a priority, so it's remained horrible, over the months.
HOWEVER! I have recently begun creating a framework that'll make new websites easier,
and I will be transfering this site over to that once it"s done. Though that could
take a while, hence this lengthy message.
Things here will gradually stop working as I'm sorting out the database structure
and other crazy stuff you really shouldn't do to a live site. But then, live sites
are generally planned-out first, and aren't written by someone who's learning as
they go along. :P
Anyway, a quick guide to things I've done:
- HamUpload - A file uploading
website I created for users of a website I moderate. Coded from scratch, in
order to learn how MySQL file storage and retrieval works.
- AJAX Rock Paper Scissors - A simple Rock,
Paper, Scissors game I made in order to learn how AJAX works.
- Blog - A built-from-scratch blog system, with
commenting for registered users.
- Dumbwords Archive - Collects results from the
"Dumbwords" game at Hamumu.com and enables browsing of
previous results.
- Game Maker Guide - Some tutorials I wrote a while
ago for help doing various things in the Game Maker program.
- Forum - An in-progress forum I
started programming. Currently on the back-burner.
- Alarm Clock - A quick alarm I
rigged-up, before finding it wasn"t as useful as I"d hoped.
Still, a first attempt at doing something with javascript.
- SiteDoodle -
An attempt at a system which would allow you to "draw" onto web
pages, then send a link so others could see the page with your annotations.
It"s in early development.
Currently you can choose where a blue rectangle will be drawn.
